About Capernwray Hall

The home of Capernwray Bible School and Capernwray Holidays

Officially opened

Saturday saw the official opening of our new Conference Hall. Over 300 people joined us in praising God for his wonderful provision and thanking those who have contributed in various ways to make this project become a reality.

Mark Thomas and Phil Burt presented the Capernwray viewpoint. We also heard from Chris Rushton, the Architect, and Phil Ashall, the project manager from Conlons before finishing with a message from Peter Maiden, International Director of OM.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in the project and especially to all of you who have supported us financially and with prayer. We hope you can visit us soon.

Coming soon!

Well, the new Conference Hall is now in full use, with our Spring Bible School taking place in the main hall, and students having the benefit of the wonderful new rooms underneath.

We officially ‘open’ the new building in less than two weeks, and then move on into our International Staff Conference, and then the Capernwray Holiday season.

Sorry we have not been able to update this blog recently, but there has been lots to do here at ‘The Hall’ so please come back shortly when we will update you with new pictures of the building.

We also intend to use the blog as a place to keep you informed of what is going on here, and once our web camera is back in full operation, and our intrepid photographers are out and about during the holidays, there will once again some informative updates for you to view.

If you aren’t already, then why not subscribe to the blog, and when it updates, you will automatically be informed that something has changed.

See you soon!

A year in two minutes

The first guests

It has been a great delight to invite our first guests into the new conference hall this week. Last year our Connect holiday was the last group in the old conference hall and this week saw them being the first group to use the new conference hall. The pictures below show how this great new facility is being used to teach people about Jesus.

Thanksgiving

Last night the staff gathered together to give thanks for the newly completed conference hall. It is just short of one whole year since the last holiday guests left the old conference hall. It has been a year which has seen an old building demolished and a new one constructed but above all else it has enabled us to see God’s great provision. Below are a few photos from last night. We will bring you more photos of the new building as the week progresses.

Putting the pieces together

Things are really nearing the end in the new conference hall as the final pieces are being put in place. The carpet is being fitted, outside lights for the pathway have been installed, the handrails on the outside stairways and bridge have also been put in place. We are also fitting all the audio and communication equipment as we prepare for the handover in the next few days.

Nearly there…

There is not long to go now. The video below shows some of the final sections of work being done as the conference hall nears completion. The video starts with the carpet tiles being laid in the back office and the carrying in of the tiles for the main conference hall and the final part of the video shows the new bridge walkway.

Photo update

As the work continues down on the site we thought it would be good to share a photo update of all that is happening. There are a lot of small jobs being finished day by day and it is exciting to think that it is only a matter of weeks until it is completed. As you will be able to see from the pictures the internal doors are being put it, the toilets are in position, the outside gutters are being laid and the final areas of roof are being slated.

Conference Hall Walk-through

As the building work continues steadily towards completion we thought it would be good to show you around the site with a video walk-through. The video starts at the rear end of the building working its way up the side and eventually emerging at the new entrance way. After entering the main doors the video takes us up onto the main stage and into the back offices and finally, after coming back through the main hall, up the stairs and into the viewing area and AV room.

Bridging the gap

The crane has been back on the site this week. It has been lifting into place the steel framework for the bridge which connects the conference hall to the sports hall pathway. As you will be able to see from the pictures the job was completed very quickly and the team are now constructing the wooden decking which will eventually cover the frame.
