As regular readers, you will be aware that the board of trustees met last Thursday (12th July) to consider the new Conference Hall project. When we originally signed the contract we only committed to build the shell, with the option to delay before proceeding with the fit out stage. This was clearly not our preferred option, but in the light of the funds we had available at the time, was the right decision.
At the meeting the board carefully and prayerfully considered the situation and concluded that, with the funds we have already received and those promised, along with the commitment of the bank to lend up to £1m, we should press on and trust the Lord for completion in one continuous contract. On Tuesday we had our regular monthly meeting with the design team and contractors and made them aware of the decision, and so they are now planning and working accordingly.
It is our prayer that we will not have to borrow from the bank so can we ask you continue to “circle” the building with prayer, giving praise to the Lord for His provision, both to date and in the future. This is still very much an exercise of faith and so we thank you for standing with us, and we look forward to seeing the new building take shape in the coming months.
Can we just encourage you to follow on the blog, if you wish to keep up with news regularly, where you will also find the current financial position.
